The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications’ Ports and Maritime Affairs Announcement with Regard to Licensing of Marine Activities

As per the Ministerial Resolution number (9) for the year 2017 with regards to marine services’ licenses, the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications’ Ports and Maritime Affairs would like to announce to all Bahraini registered companies and commercial institutes which do not hold a proper license to carry out or perform the activities listed below to apply for a license at PMA within six (6) months from the date of publishing the aforementioned resolution. Moreover, those who are planning to perform these activities are requested to immediately apply for a license at PMA; any violator will be legally liable and shall be penalized as per the law.

The maritime activities listed under the resolution include: 1) Private and Public Ports Management, 2) Marine Pilotage, 3) Towage Services, 4) Freight Forwarders, 5) Shipping Agents, 6) Ship Chandlers, 7) Bunkering Services, 8) Shipping Management, 9) Ship Recycling, 10) Stevedoring, 11) Marine Surveying, 12) Ship Building and Repair, 13) Aids to Navigation Services, and 14) Passenger Transportation.
