The month of July 2014 goes on record as the third hottest July ever experienced in Bahrain since 1902.

The mean temperature of the month was 35.7°C. This is 1.8°C above the long-term normal. This goes on record as the third highest mean monthly temperature for July since 1902 and exceeded by July 2012 which was 36.0°C and July 2010 which was 35.8°C.

The mean maximum temperature of the month was 39.2°C. The maximum temperatures were above normal during the month except for a few days.

The highest temperature recorded in the month was 42.0°C set on the 11th July due to the warm northwesterly to northerly winds which were dominating during that morning. During the month Bahrain had 7 days with maximum temperature which exceeded 40°C.

The mean minimum temperature of the month was 32.7°C. This goes on record as the highest mean minimum temperature for July since 1946. The old record was 32.6°C in July 2010.

The minimum temperatures were also above normal during the month. The lowest temperature record was 30.8°C set on the 6th of July.

The mean relative humidity for July was 40%. This goes on record as the second lowest mean monthly relative humidity for July since 1955 and exceeded by July 2009 which was 38%.

The mean maximum relative humidity for the month was 58%. This goes on record as the second lowest mean monthly maximum relative humidity for July since 1955 and exceeded by July 2009 which was 54%.

The mean minimum relative humidity for the month was 24%. This goes on record as the second lowest mean monthly minimum relative humidity for July since 1955. This is same as July 2009 and exceeded by July 2012 which was 23%.

July 2014 was the second sunniest July on record since the sunshine records began in 1968. The total hour of sunshine for the month was 376.0 hours. This total hour of sunshine was only exceeded by July 1974 which was 377.8 hours.

Shamal winds accounted 61% of the observation with gusts reached 31 knots on the 28th of July at the airport.

Thick dust haze was reported on the 14th of July which reduced visibility to 800 meters at the airport due to fresh northwesterly winds.
