The Land Transportation Regulation Directorate is responsible for the regulation of the taxi sector in Bahrain

The Land Transportation Regulation Directorate is responsible for the regulation of the taxi sector in Bahrain. The directorate is responsible for the issuance and renewal of all taxi and call taxi licenses. It also carries out inspections and regulates companies providing taxi services using mobiles and other innovative applications.

There are currently more than 900 taxi vehicles operated by Bahraini individuals. Whereas, there are 5 companies that provide taxi services including on-call services as listed below.
