A new fire station is being constructed as part of the Airport Moderation Program to provide first response to all aviation and aircraft emergencies and fire alarm activations within the airport boundary and expected to be completed by August 2016 with a total capacity of 4500 square meters. It is designed to comply with the latest international standards.
A new Security Gate ‘Supergate’ and Staff Car Park are being constructed at the east end of the airfield (in what was formally Galali Garden) and are expected to open mid-summer 2016. These new facilities will replace ‘Control Post 1’ and a number of Staff Car Parks which need to close to make way for the construction of the new Passenger Terminal. Supergate has been planned and designed to comply with the very latest international standards to enhance the security of the airport.
