The signing was also attended by Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) Chief Executive Officer, Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah.

Fraport AG is a leading services company with more than 10 years of experience in inaugurating airport infrastructure projects. It will support BAC in managing a comprehensive Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer (ORAT) program, which will ensure the operational readiness of the new airport infrastructure project; collaborate and communicate with all partners involved in the project to ensure timely information-sharing and an effective decision-making process aimed at a seamless stakeholders’ transfer process; ensure that the tools, skills, and documentation are in place to successfully operate, maintain, and manage the new terminal building, as well as suggest best practices for airport operations; and deliver a seamless transition of airport operations to the new passenger terminal building to ensure a successful opening.

Mr. Al Binfalah said: “Fraport is a major airport operator with operations in 10 airports worldwide, and their track record proves that they are more than capable in supporting large-scale projects like AMP. We are confident that, under their supervision, the launch of the terminal will be a smooth process, and that they will do a great job of ensuring that everything is up to the standards passengers have come to expect from Bahrain International Airport.”

BAC is the authority responsible for enhancing BIA and increasing the airport’s contribution to the local economy in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.  In its operational role, BAC is responsible for elevating the airport’s operations, infrastructure and services. This is set to improve BIA’s capabilities and cater to the growing number of passengers as well as the changing demands of stakeholders.
