Ministry of Transport and Communications announces Issued a license to Hair Taxi.

Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications (MTT) issued a license to "Here Taxi" company as the first company to carry out the activity of "taxi or limousine on call".

The initiative aims to boost the services provided to taxi drivers and encourages institutional work to upgrade the service as the ministry seeks to regulate and develop the land transportation sector in the Kingdom and create new opportunities for more contribution by the private sector in this sector.

Nada Yousef Abdullatif, Assistant Undersecretary for Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications said: "The land transportation sector is one of the active sectors in the Kingdom that spurs the economic activity, hence the ministry continues to promote the taxicab and 'limousine on call' services. The ministry welcomes and encourages establishments and their investment in the transportation sector in harmony with the ministry's strategy aimed to boost the land transportation sector and enhance the standard of services provided in all activities in this sector."

The assistant undersecretary added that the move from individualistic work to institutional work aims to ensure sustainability in view of the competition between companies  under changing market's supply and demand parameters to ensure for the sector workers sustainability whilst maintaining their vocation and source of income as well as opening profit-making opportunities in the "taxi or limo on call" service.
