Operator Information

Bahrain Public Transport Company (BPTC) is the operator of the Bahrain public buses; it is a private joint venture between leading UK-based international transport providers National Express plc and Bahrain-based Ahmed Mansour Al Aali (AMA), the largest and longest-established contracting and construction group in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

National Express plc boasts over twenty years of experience operating similar services across North America, Europe and North Africa and blends international expertise with local knowledge.

BPTC was appointed by Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications (MTT) under a 10-year concession agreement to operate Bahrain’s public buses in accordance with international standards and practices. Under the supervision and regulation of the MTT, BPTC is responsible for the operation of the entire public bus network as well as the provision of the upgraded buses, and bus terminals infrastructure development.

BPTC has prepared new internationally-acclaimed safety programs to improve driver skilling schemes, they have also   provided a fleet of technologically advanced vehicles, to ensure the new public transport model offers the highest in safety and customer service standards
