Overview

The Telecommunications Directorate of the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications is tasked with the development of the Telecommunications sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain within the framework established by the Legislative Decree No. 48 of 2002 promulgating the Telecommunications Law, with the objective of enhancing telecommunications services and infrastructure, fostering enhanced competition and ensuring consumer protection.

Additionally, the Telecommunications Directorate undertakes the preparation and implementation oversight of the recurrent National Telecommunications Plans, which establish Government’s policy and objectives for the sector for the duration of the Plan.

The Telecommunications Directorate is also responsible for representing the Kingdom of Bahrain in all telecommunications related regional and international conferences, meetings and forums.
