Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications His Excellency Engineer Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed headed the 33rd meeting regular session of the Arab Transportation Ministers’ Council which attended the virtual meeting.

The delegations discussed key issues related to maritime, air and land transportation, as well the future plans to strengthen cooperation between the Arab states.

The meeting focused especially on the project to regulate the maritime transport of passengers and goods between Arab countries and the agreement to exchange exemptions from taxes and customs duties in the field of air transport.

The delegations also discussed a paper to support land transport within the Belt and Road Initiative, in addition to submitting proposals to enhance intra-trade among member states.

The delegation included Undersecretary for Land Transportation and Post Sami Bouhazza, Assistant Undersecretary for Land Transportation Nada Dain, Assistant Undersecretary for Maritime Navigation Youssef Bubsheet and Assistant Undersecretary for Air Transportation and Aviation Security Ibtissam Al-Shamlan.
