The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications’ Meteorological Directorate reported in their monthly weather summary that the month of  March 2019 was slightly cooler than normal in temperatures with below average precipitation and relative humidities.

The mean temperature of the month was 20.8°C which is 0.2°C below the long-term normal for March.

The mean maximum temperature of the month was 24.3°C which is 0.4°C below the long-term normal. The highest temperature recorded during the month was 27.8°C which occurred on the 25th March at Bahrain International Airport but recorded 28.8°C on the same day at Durrat Al Bahrain.

The mean minimum temperature of the month was 18.0°C which is 0.2°C above the long-term normal. The lowest temperature recorded was 14.5°C set on the 3rd March at Bahrain International Airport but recorded 10.4°C at same night in Durrat Al Bahrain.

The mean relative humidity for March was 60% whereas the mean maximum relative humidity was 76% and the mean minimum relative humidity was 41%.

March 2019 was the fourth sunniest March since the sunshine records began in 1968 whereby the monthly total hour of sunshine recorded was 280.6 hours and exceeded by March 2018 with a record of 324.3 hours, March 2013 with a record of 291.3 hours and March 2008 with a record of 285.2 hours

A total of 8.7 mm of precipitation was reported on March 2019 at Bahrain International Airport. Trace amounts were recorded on the 16th, 21st, 22nd, 26th and 31st March, the long-term average total precipitation for the month of March is 14.0 mm. The highest monthly total precipitation ever recorded during March was 139.2 mm recorded on March 1995 at Bahrain International Airport.

The total precipitation recorded for March 2019 at King Fahd Causeway was 8.8 mm whereas the total precipitation at Durrat Al Bahrain was 5.8 mm, at Sitra Island was 2.8 mm and at Bahrain International Circuit was 1.0 mm.

Northwesterly to Northerly winds accounted 50% of the observation with gusts reached 36 knots on the 1st March at Bahrain International Airport But recorded 39 knots at Durrat Al Bahrain on the 17th March.
