As part of the Ministry of Transportation’s focus on developing and training national talent across the civil aviation sector, His Excellency Engineer Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Minister of Transportation and Acting Chief Executive of the Economic Development Board met in his office ten new Bahraini employees of the Ministry of Transportation (MoT) Civil Aviation Affairs who have participated in a training program organized by MoT in partnership with Gulf Aviation Academy and UK-based Global Aviation Training Services (GATS).

The training program aimed to equip the staff members with the necessary know-how and qualifications over the course of 6 weeks, followed by on-the-job training as assistant Air Traffic Controller before they qualify for the Air Traffic Controller course at the Control Tower.

On this occasion, His Excellency stressed the importance of developing young Bahrainis who are interested in the aviation industry, stating that this training program in particular is a fundamental course in the air traffic control field and is internationally recognized by the International Civil Aviation Organisation. The successful completion of the program by the candidates symbolizes a major milestone in the development of Bahraini talent at the Ministry.

Mr Ahmed added that MoT is firmly committed to training and qualifying its team members before they assume their positions as this ensures that they are well equipped with the skills needed to perform their duties to the highest standard.

He expressed his pride in the capabilities of young Bahrainis who are the future of the growth of the aviation industry in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and praised the support that the Government of Bahrain provides to ensure that Bahrainis are well trained in accordance with their job responsibilities.
