Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, received Asmaa Shalabi, the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

 

The Minister emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the United Nations and its specialised agencies, particularly in transportation, telecommunications, and digital transformation, in line with Bahrain Economic Vision and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030.

 

The two sides discussed cooperation in technological innovation, digital infrastructure development, national capacity-building, and support for joint programmes and initiatives, aligned with the Strategic Partnership Framework for Sustainable Development (SPF) 2025–2029.

 

On her part, Shalabi expressed appreciation for the Minister’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with the United Nations and supporting the achievement of the SDGs, particularly in the sectors of transportation and telecommunications.

 

She wished the Kingdom and its people further progress and prosperity.
