The Kingdom of Bahrain has achieved a new regional success with the election of Ministry of Transportation Civil Aviation Affairs Director of Air Navigation, Mr Ali Ahmed Mohammed, as Chairman of the Middle East Air Navigation Regional Planning and Implementation Group.

This latest achievement for a Bahraini Government official was crowned at the Group’s latest meeting held in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia earlier this month.

The Air Navigation Regional Group, which comprises 15 countries, is entrusted by the Cairo-based International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) with the task of developing and enforcing policies and strategies related to Middle East air navigation traffic and International Air Navigation System. The Group is also charged with making recommendations conducive to ensuring the safe and efficient movement of aircrafts within air routes, and is of particular importance given that the Middle East region is a key geographic region linking all parts of the globe.

The election of Mr Ali Ahmed Mohammed as Chairman of this group is testament to the Kingdom’s long-standing role with respect to international and regional air navigation traffic and comes as further recognition of Bahraini talent, the real asset and core of development of the nation.
