The Ministry of Transportation Undersecretary for Land Transport and Postal Affairs Engineer Mrs. Mariam Ahmed Jumaan chaired the 18th preparatory meeting of Undersecretaries of Transportation Ministries and Presidents of the relevant Authorities in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, which commenced today in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The two-day meeting, which is being attended by ministerial undersecretaries and presidents of the relevant authorities in the transportation sector in GCC-member countries, will discuss several matters pertaining to this sector's development in the GCC in advance of the 17th GCC Ministerial Meeting for Transportation which will be held in the Kingdom on Monday September 30th 2013.

The meeting will finalize the recommendations and proposals to be presented and discussed at the Ministerial meeting. On the agenda for discussion are the GCC Railway project, land transport networks, and maritime transportation as well as strategic dialogue between the GCC and the different Economic Blocs and States as well as other topics of common importance.
