General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) HE Sulaiman Al Hamdan during the Bahrain International Airshow 2016.
The MoU, which aims at further strengthening the civil aviation links and cooperation between the two countries, will enable the national carries of both countries to operate 107 flights per week in both directions, which will have a positive impact on providing air transport services that meet the passenger requirements of both citizens and residents.
According to the agreement, Gulf Air will increase the number of flights to Jeddah to 28 flights per week with 4 flights daily and 35 flights to Riyadh with 5 flights daily in addition to 37 flights per week to Dammam and 7 flights a week to Medina. The terms of the agreement will also allow additional flights to be operated and will allow Gulf Air permission to operate flights to domestic airports including Jeddah and Riyadh.
On this occasion, HE the Minister praised the strong ties between the two neighbouring countries on all levels particularly in the civil aviation sector. His Excellency also thanked the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and expressed his appreciation for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s strong participation at the Bahrain International Airshow 2016 which contributes to the show’s success. His Excellency Sulaiman Al Hamdan praised Bahrain’s leading role in the aviation industry and the strong exemplary ties that link both countries. His Excellency Mr. Sulaiman also praised the organization and the efforts to host BIAS which has proven to be a successful event in the aviation industry calendar.
