Facilities
Industrial Private Jetties:
With over 30 licensed private jetties, Bahrain offers the necessary facilities for businesses relying on an accessible intermodal transportation network. These private jetties serve a variety of industries, including petrochemicals, manufacturing, marine services, construction, and shipping. Strategically located in Bahrain’s main industrial zones such as North Sitra Industrial Area, Mina Salman Industrial Area, Salman Industrial City, and Ras-Zuwayad, these jetties are ideally positioned to serve different industries while being conveniently accessible to major transportation points, ensuring smooth logistics and operations.
Passenger Transport Jetties:
The PMA is responsible for licensing all passenger transport jetties, ensuring the safety and security of passengers and facilities at all times. These jetties are concentrated in key tourist locations such as Bahrain Bay, Amwaj Islands, Manama, and Al Dar Islands.
Licenses
Licenses for operating private jetties are issued by the PMA and are renewable every two years. To apply for a license, please access the SIJLAT system on www.sijlat.bh or to renew an existing license, please visit the Marasi portal here .

Regulation
IIn 2017, the PMA introduced new regulations to govern the use and operation of private jetties. All licensed companies now operate under the PMA Licensing Resolution [PDF, 135 KB]. Private jetty regulations can also be viewed on the Laws and Regulations page.
Port Tariff
he PMA is responsible for setting and implementing the port tariff for all ports and maritime services. For more information on ports and maritime tariffs, please click here.
Inspections
