As per the previous studies, Bahrain Metro network needs was identified in a total length of 109km to be developed on phases. The length of phase one is 29Km and it will include 20 stations which will be operate through two lines, where the first line will be connecting Airport to Seef District , while the other line will connect Juffair to educational area in Isa Town.

The Ministry has qualified seven consortiums for execution of the first phase (Phase 1) of the project. .

In addition to that, The metro network for phase one will be connected to King Hamad International Passenger Station through the first phase A (Phase 1A), which will be 8 km long using 4 stops.

The Ministry is also working on studying phase two of the project by linking King Hamad International Passenger Station in Ramli area with the Sports City, Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre in Sakhir area with a total length of 18 km including 5 stops.
