His Excellency Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, met with Jean-Christophe Durand, President of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bahrain (FCCIB).

The meeting discussed transport and communication networks and explored opportunities for enhanced economic collaboration between Bahrain and France.

The minister reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening economic and investment partnerships with France, particularly in transport, telecommunications, logistics, and digital transformation.

He praised the chamber’s role over the past decade in fostering economic, investment, and technological cooperation between the two countries.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed also highlighted the active participation of French companies in key strategic projects, including Aéroports de Paris Ingénierie’s contribution to the design and supervision of the new passenger terminal at Bahrain International Airport and the development of the new air traffic control centre, as well as Egis’ involvement in designing and implementing the Express Air Cargo Village project.

The minister emphasised the Kingdom’s aspirations for further collaboration with France, reinforcing its position as a leading hub for civil aviation and logistics in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.

On his part, Jean-Christophe Durand expressed appreciation for the strong economic partnership between Bahrain and France and looked forward to expanding cooperation and exchange of expertise in transport, logistics, telecommunications, and digital innovation. He also commended Bahrain for ranking first regionally in ICT readiness.
