Her Excellency the Undersecretary of Land Transport Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation Engineer Mariam Ahmed Jumaan headed a delegation as part of an official visit to Abu Dhabi’s Department of Transport (DOT), the National Transport Authority (NTA), and The Centre for Regulation of Transport by Hire Cars.
The delegation was received by the Director General of the National Transport Authority Engineer Ebrahim Abdulla Al Wahhabi, Mr. Abdulmajid Abdulrazzaq Alkhaja Senior Projects Advisor at Abu Dhabi’s Department of Transport, General Manager of The Centre for Regulation of Transport by Hire Cars Mr. Mohamed Darwish Al Qamzi, the Director of Intelligent Transportation Systems Mr. Ali Murad Taher from the Department of Transport, and a number of other officials. The meetings were also attended by Hassan Adel Abu Hassan, Director of Land Transportation Regulation, Safa Baqer AlTajir, Chief Land Transportation Licensing, and Duaa Jassim Mohsin Senior Transport Licensing Specialist from Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation.
During the visit, the Bahraini delegation was briefed on each entity’s experience in the public transportation sector and the initiatives and steps taken to develop and improve the sector particularly in relation to public bus services and taxis.
This visit comes as part of benchmarking exercise being undertaken by the Ministry of Transportation’s Land Transport Affairs in order to learn from the UAE’s experience and build a model which provides high-quality, viable and reliable public transportation services across the Kingdom of Bahrain.
