HE Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, met with Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

The meeting discussed progress in land, sea, and air connectivity projects among GCC countries, joint investments, and knowledge exchange in communications and information technology.

The minister underscored the importance of adopting artificial intelligence technologies, fostering innovation, and supporting the digital economy. He commended the General Secretariat’s efforts in enhancing Gulf cooperation and following up on the directives of GCC leaders.

The minister underscored Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with GCC countries and coordinating with the General Secretariat to accelerate the implementation of joint development projects in transport, telecommunications, and infrastructure.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed also highlighted the importance of advancing the GCC railway network project and supporting digital transformation as key pillars for achieving full economic integration and sustainable development goals.

On his part, the GCC Secretary General expressed appreciation for Bahrain’s support of regional economic integration and praised the minister’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and integration in transport, telecommunications, and logistics, in line with the aspirations of GCC nations for further progress and sustainable prosperity.
