HE Fatima Abdullah Al Dhaen, Undersecretary for Land Transport and Post Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, announced the completion of smart taxi meter installations for individual taxis. This initiative aims to enhance land transport services, align with digital advancements, and ensure fairness and transparency for drivers, passengers, and visitors.

Al Dhaen noted that the smart meters provide accurate driver and trip information, route details, fare calculations, and approved tariffs. They include features such as automated fare computation, smart maps integrated with modern ride-hailing apps, and the potential for future integration with electronic payment systems like bank cards and the Benefit app, she added.

The Undersecretary highlighted the ministry's ongoing efforts to develop infrastructure and support digital transformation through public-private partnerships. She underscored the importance of these initiatives in providing safe, reliable, and sustainable transport services, aligning with and advancing Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.
