Of air traffic services, a contract for upgrading the Navigational Aids System was signed during the Bahrain International Airshow.
The agreement was signed with Indra Navia who will be providing advanced navigation aids systems that include Instrument Landing System, Distance Measuring Equipment, and Doppler VHF Omnidirectional Range with a total cost of US$ 2.9 million (BHD 1.1 Million).
The new technology will enable pilots to navigate and land under difficult weather conditions, with precise information from the localizers and glide path helping the aircraft to touchdown on the runway. The reliability and accuracy of the new Navigational Aids will improve capacity, reduce maintenance cost, and enhance passenger safety.
The agreement was signed by His Excellency the Acting Undersecretary for Civil Aviation Affairs Mr. Ahmed Al Nemah and Indra Navia’s President Mr. Eldar Hauge. On this occasion His Excellency stated “As the regulators of the aviation industry, we aim to ensure the provision of the highest quality navigation services to all users and enhancing the safety and efficiency of air traffic services, all of which contribute to enhancing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s role and leading position in air navigation both regionally and internationally.
