As part of His Excellency Engineer Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Minister of Transportation and Acting Chief Executive of the Economic Development Board’s commitment to building a cadre of qualified Bahraini nationals in the field of aviation security, the first batch of National Civil Aviation Security Instructors have graduated following the successful completion of a training course held at the Gulf Aviation Academy (GAA) and which was conducted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) with the participation of companies operating at Bahrain International Airport and in coordination with the Ministry of Interior which was represented by the airport’s Police Directorate.
On this occasion, His Excellency Acting Undersecretary of Civil Aviation Affairs Mr Ahmed Al-Nemah expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency the Minister for his commitment in providing opportunities to Bahraini nationals that enable them to gain the necessary skills and certifications to pursue careers in aviation. Mr Al-Nemah also praised the graduates for their efforts in completing the training programme successfully especially following the ICAO Member States’ approval to have Bahrain as the headquarters for the Cooperative Aviation Security Programme (CASP) for the MENA region.
The Acting Undersecretary also praised the International Civil Aviation Organization for their contribution in providing a modern training curricula in aviation security which also serves as a topic of global importance as it aims in maintaining safety and security within the aviation industry.
