The Registration of Ships and Seamen Affairs Directorate recently held a meeting with representatives from Bahraini shipowners, the Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affairs (NPRA), led by Lt. Col. Fawaz Nasser Al-Jiran, Director of Ports of Entry Services, and the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), led by Mr. Hassan Jamal Al Rahma, Director of Client Services, along with Bahraini maritime companies.

Key discussion points included exploring solutions to help Bahraini maritime companies overcome challenges in issuing permits and visas for seafarers, as well as outlining the mechanism for obtaining work permits for those working on Bahraini-flagged vessels and addressed how the LMRA and NPRA can facilitate the process within their respective roles.
