HE Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, led Bahrain’s delegation at the third Saudi-Bahraini coordination meeting on investment, environment, and infrastructure.

The meeting was held at Dhahran Expo in Dammam. The Saudi delegation was led by Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al Falih, Minister of Investment.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed commended the strong historical ties and strategic partnership between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The minister commended the development of bilateral cooperation, highlighting major projects and initiatives under the Bahrain-Saudi Coordination Council, co-chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia.

He expressed appreciation for efforts of committee members and government representatives in advancing development projects.

These projects include the establishment of an investment company in Bahrain, aluminium sector collaboration, a new undersea communications cable, digital entrepreneurship coordination, AI and technology training programmes, and projects funded by the Saudi Fund for Development.

Both sides emphasised their commitment to enhancing investment promotion, environmental cooperation, food security, and urban planning.

They also reviewed progress on the railway and parallel bridge to King Fahd Causeway, with completion targeted for December 2030, along with plans for air and sea transport connectivity and civil aviation security.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed highlighted the shared commitment to advancing cooperation in investment, transportation, ICT, infrastructure, logistics, and environmental protection to support sustainable development goals and enhance bilateral integration.

On his part, Al Falih emphasised the commitment to developing economic ties and trade cooperation in line with the directives of both leaderships.

He noted the Bahrain-Saudi Coordination Council’s role in driving business growth, trade exchange, and investment sustainability.

The meeting reviewed ongoing initiatives and the work of task forces dedicated to enhancing integration in investment, environment, and infrastructure, ensuring continued progress for both nations.
