
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, received Dr. Abdallah Al Dardari, Assistant Secretary General, Assistant Administrator and Director of the Regional Bureau for Arab States at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The minister emphasised the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to enhancing cooperation and strategic partnership with the UN in the development of infrastructure and the advancement of the transportation, telecommunications, and information technology sectors, in line with the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed expressed appreciation for the close and growing partnership between Bahrain and the UN and its specialised agencies in various economic, social, and environmental domains, which supports Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
He also underscored the government’s commitment, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to enhance cooperation with the UNDP in training national cadres and developing their skills in artificial intelligence and digital innovation. He highlighted the importance of supporting joint projects and initiatives aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (2025–2029).
On his part, Dr. Abdallah Al Dardari expressed his appreciation to the minister for his commitment to advancing technical, developmental, and strategic cooperation with the UN, and wished the Kingdom and its people continued progress and prosperity.
