HE Fatima Abdullah Al Dhaen, Undersecretary for Land Transportation and Post at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, met with the Transport and Logistics Services Committee at the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) to discuss cooperation in regulating the land transport and trucking sector, enhancing compliance with applicable regulations and requirements, and strengthening public private sector partnership.
The meeting reviewed mechanisms for organising truck distribution and developing work procedures to ensure smooth traffic flow and improve the efficiency of the land transport sector. Both sides discussed means to improve the handling of observations and violations related to heavy transport trucks, within a corrective and regulatory approach aimed at enhancing compliance and raising adherence to approved controls.
They highlighted the importance of continuing cooperation and ongoing coordination between concerned entities and the private sector, and working to develop regulatory and legislative frameworks that support the transport and logistics sector, enhance its sustainability, support its role in developing the national economy, and achieve integration among all stakeholders.
