As per previous studies, the Bahrain Metro network is planned with a total length of 109 km, to be developed in phases. Phase 1 will span 29 km and will include 20 stations, operating through two lines. The first line will connect Bahrain International Airport to Seef District, while the second line will link Juffair to the educational area in Isa Town.
The Ministry has qualified seven consortiums for the execution of Phase 1 of the project.
Additionally, Phase 1 of the metro network will be connected to King Hamad International Railway Station through Phase 1A, which will span 8 km and include 4 stops.
The Ministry is also conducting studies for Phase 2 of the project which will link King Hamad International Railway Station in the Ramli area to the Sports City, Exhibition World Bahrain in Sakhir. This phase will cover a total length of 18 km and will include 5 stops.
