National Aviation Strategy (2026–2027)

The Kingdom of Bahrain, through its National Aviation Strategy (2026–2027), aspires to position itself as a leading regional and global center of excellence in the aviation sector.

The strategy focuses on building an integrated aviation ecosystem aligned with the highest international standards. It aims to strengthen global connectivity, support economic growth, and deliver high-quality services — reinforcing Bahrain’s position as:
- A preferred destination for airlines.
- A leading regional center for business aviation.
- A high-value hub for maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and cargo logistics.

Strategic Objectives
The National Aviation Strategy is guided by the following strategic objectives:
- Building an integrated aviation ecosystem in accordance with global standards.
- Transforming the airport into a global center of excellence
- Expand global connectivity.


Strategic Pillars 
The strategy is structured around three core pillars:

1. Regulation and Governance
Strengthening the regulatory and institutional framework to ensure a safe, efficient, and forward-looking aviation sector through:
- Developing legislation and regulatory frameworks to ensure safety and customer centricity.
- Advancing digital transformation and deploying artificial intelligence within sector workflows.
- Enhancing the efficiency of airspace management in line with international best practices and policies.

2. Operational Activities and Services
- Enhancing the competitiveness and service excellence of Bahrain’s aviation sector by:
- Increasing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s attractiveness as a preferred destination for airlines.
- Establishing Bahrain as a competitive and leading regional center for business aviation.
- Delivering distinguished services in maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and cargo logistics.
- Developing aviation sector infrastructure.

3. Infrastructure and Sustainability
- Ensuring long-term resilience and responsible growth through:
- Transitioning toward sustainability and adopting environmental practices across the aviation ecosystem.
- Developing aviation sector human capital and building the skills of future generations.
